Product Specific Information
The R-phycoerythrin (PE)-Texas Red conjugate permits simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets using a single excitation source—the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but can also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Tissue-level expression includes thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of the brain and gut. CD4 contributes to early T-cell activation via association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck. It may also mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
