Apolipoprotein C-III (ApoC3)는 인간 APOC3 유전자에 의해 발현되는 단백질로, 매우 낮은 밀도 지단백(VLDL)의 구성 성분입니다. ApoC3는 lipoprotein lipase 및 hepatic lipase를 억제하여 중성지방이 풍부한 입자의 대사를 지연시키는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. APOA1, APOC3, APOA4 유전자는 인간과 설치류에서 밀접하게 연결되어 있으며, APOA1과 APOA4는 같은 방향으로 전사되고, APOA1과 APOC3는 반대 방향으로 전사됩니다. ApoC3 수치의 증가는 고중성지방혈증의 발생과 관련이 있습니다.
