Target Information
F-box proteins are critical components of the evolutionary conserved ubiquitin-protein ligase complex SCF (Skp1/Cdc53-Cullin1/F-box). These proteins recruit substrates for ubiquitination and degradation through specific protein-protein interaction domains.
Novel human F-box proteins (FBG1–FBG5) form a third subfamily of mammalian F-box proteins, expressed in limited human tissues such as kidney, liver, brain, and muscle.
