Recombinant Cas9-GFP protein from Streptococcus pyogenes (~194 kDa) is a ready-to-use reagent for genome engineering experiments.
When combined with target-specific guide RNAs, wild-type S. pyogenes Cas9-GFP protein functions as a targeted nuclease suitable for:
- Transfection of cell cultures
- Accelerated development of genetically modified animals via one-cell embryo injection
The N-terminally fused enhanced green fluorescent protein (excitation 488 nm, emission 509 nm) allows visualization of the transfected RNP complex and facilitates flow cytometry applications.
The protein includes three nuclear localization sequences (3× NLS) optimized for nuclear delivery and activity.
