Also known as GHN, Somatotropin, Growth hormone 1 (GH1), Pituitary growth hormone.
HGH is part of the somatotropin/prolactin family, crucial for growth regulation. It promotes bone and cartilage growth, enhances protein synthesis via liver somatomedin and tissue polypeptide growth factor, and aids in correcting negative nitrogen balance caused by severe infection or cirrhosis. Additionally, it stimulates immunoglobulin synthesis, lymphoid tissue proliferation, macrophage and lymphocyte activity, and accelerates wound healing. HGH also supports myocardial protein synthesis, increases contractility, reduces oxygen consumption, and regulates fat metabolism by lowering serum cholesterol and LDL levels.
