Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are secreted signaling molecules capable of inducing ectopic bone growth. They belong to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily. BMPs were initially identified by their ability to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo.
BMP8B is expressed early in embryogenesis and is closely related to BMP5 and BMP7, suggesting potential bone inductive activity.
This recombinant human BMP8B protein is His-tagged and expressed in E. coli for research use.
