This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

This antibody has specificity for Human Superoxide Dismutase (SOD1).
Target Information
SOD1 (superoxide dismutase) binds copper and zinc ions and is one of two isozymes responsible for destroying free superoxide radicals in the body. This soluble cytoplasmic protein acts as a homodimer to convert harmful superoxide radicals into molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. The other isozyme is mitochondrial. Mutations in this gene are associated with familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Rare transcript variants have been reported.
