Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65), encoded by the RELA gene on chromosome 11, is also known as RelA and belongs to the Rel family of proteins. It forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB. Upon TNFα stimulation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its degradation and activation of NF-kB signaling. NF-kB p65 plays an essential role in transcriptional regulation of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
