Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45898 detects Metallothionein in 1 µg of purified Pseudomonas aeruginosa Metallothionein (PmtA)-GST tagged protein by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects a 36 kDa band corresponding to Pseudomonas aeruginosa Metallothionein.
Target Information
Metallothioneins (MTs) are a family of low molecular weight, heavy metal-binding proteins characterized by high cysteine content and absence of aromatic amino acids. MTs bind 7–12 heavy metal atoms per molecule and are found in animals, plants, and prokaryotes. In mammals, cysteine residues coordinate zinc, cadmium, and copper via mercaptide linkages.
