Target Information
CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex 2 (CNOT2) is a component of the CCR4-NOT complex, one of the major cellular mRNA deadenylases. It is linked to various cellular processes including bulk mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translational repression during initiation, and general transcription regulation. CNOT2 is required for the CCR4-NOT complex structural integrity and may link the complex to transcriptional regulation through the N-Cor repressor complex containing HDAC3, NCOR1, and NCOR2. It also plays a role in maintaining embryonic stem cell identity. (UniProt)
