Target Information

CD146 (MCAM) is an integral membrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed at cell-cell junctions in endothelial cells and other normal or malignant cell types.
CD146 functions as a calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule and may act in signal transduction via Fyn kinase, influencing actin cytoskeleton assembly.
It contributes to endothelial cohesion, tumor cell vascular interactions, and may play roles in embryonic neural crest development and intracellular signaling involving tyrosine phosphorylation of FYN and PTK2.
