Target Information
ADAMTS5, also known as Implantin or Aggrecanase 2, belongs to the ADAM (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase) family containing thrombospondin repeats. It was initially identified as a protein elevated in mice during the peri-implantation period and later found as Aggrecanase 11 in arthritic synovium. ADAMTS5 is expressed in human and mouse tissues including heart, lung, cervix, uterus, ovary, brain, cartilage, and chondroblastoma cell lines.
