DRP1 (Dynamin-related protein 1)은 인간 세포에서 미토콘드리아 분열에 관여하는 단백질입니다. 정상 상태와 세포사멸 과정에서 미토콘드리아 분열을 조절하며, 신경세포에서 미토콘드리아의 적절한 분포를 유지하는 데 필수적입니다. DRP1 돌연변이 신경세포에서는 시냅스에 미토콘드리아가 거의 존재하지 않아, 미토콘드리아의 역할을 분석하는 유전학적 도구로 활용될 수 있습니다.
