Target Information
TRIM22 is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains (RING, B-box type 1, B-box type 2) and a coiled-coil region.
It localizes to the cytoplasm and its expression is induced by interferon.
TRIM22 down-regulates transcription from the HIV-1 LTR promoter region, suggesting its role in mediating interferon’s antiviral effects.
