Campylobacter jejuni is a curved, long rod-shaped, Gram-negative microaerophilic bacterium commonly found in animal feces. It is one of the most common causes of human gastroenteritis worldwide and is frequently associated with poultry, naturally colonizing the gastrointestinal tract of many bird species.
