Product Specific Information

The eBio927 monoclonal antibody reacts with PDCA-1 (BST2, CD317), a specific marker of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC), also known as type I IFN-producing cells (IPC) in naive mice. Mouse IPCs are typically CD11c+, CD11b-, B220+, Ly-6C+, and CD62L+. PDCA-1 is predominantly expressed by IPCs in naive mice (<0.5% of splenocytes) and is upregulated upon IFN stimulation. PDCA-1 cycles between surface and intracellular compartments, possibly regulating cytokine trafficking.

The eBio927 antibody exhibits functional activity. Its epitope is distinct from eBio129c, allowing co-staining and purification of pDCs.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Verified by flow cytometric analysis of SJL splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test. One test corresponds to staining in a final volume of 100 µL (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

BST2 (CD317, HM1.24 antigen, DAMP-2, tetherin) is an integral membrane protein involved in B-cell development and growth. It facilitates stromal cell-dependent growth of pre-B-cell lines and is highly expressed in B-cell lineage, T-cells, monocytes, NK cells, DCs, and myeloma cells. BST2 inhibits retrovirus release, antagonized by HIV-1 Vpu, suggesting potential therapeutic relevance in HIV/AIDS. BST2 dysfunction is also associated with stomatitis.
