Target Information
Type I interferons (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta) are structurally and functionally related proteins induced by viruses or double-stranded RNA. They confer an antiviral state in cells by binding to a common cell surface receptor (IFN-alpha/betaR).
IFN-alpha/betaR exists as two alternatively spliced transcripts, IFN-alpha/betaR1 and IFN-alpha/betaR2, both involved in signal transduction and ligand binding.
