Target Information
YBX1 binds to splice sites in pre-mRNA and regulates splice site selection. It stabilizes cytoplasmic mRNA and modulates translation by influencing interactions between mRNA and eukaryotic initiation factors. YBX1 binds to promoters containing a Y-box sequence (5’-CTGATTGGCCAA-3’), including HLA class II genes. It regulates transcription of numerous genes, promotes separation of mismatched or cisplatin-modified DNA strands, exhibits endonucleolytic activity, and may play a role in DNA repair.
