This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CEP41.
Target Information
Centrosomes are the major microtubule-organizing centers of mammalian cells, composed of a centriole pair and surrounding pericentriolar material (PCM). Proper centrosome duplication and maturation are essential for bipolar mitotic spindle assembly. Disruption of these processes can lead to spindle defects, aneuploidy, and cancer progression.
The CEP41 (centrosomal protein of 41 kDa) gene encodes a 373-amino acid protein, alternatively spliced into four isoforms. Isoforms 1 and 4 are expressed in testis, fetal brain, and liver.
