Product Specific Information

Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature (RT).
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is a member of the Herpesviridae family. HSV-1 and HSV-2 (Human herpes virus 1 and 2; HHV-1 and HHV-2) are highly contagious to humans.

  • HSV-1 strains typically cause cold sores.
  • HSV-2 strains are responsible for most genital herpes cases.
    Transmission occurs when an infected individual is shedding the virus.
    The virion consists of a large double-stranded linear DNA genome encased within a capsid and enveloped by a viral membrane.
    HSV strains possess over 70 open reading frames (ORFs) and have been associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
