Product Specific Information

The UCHT2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. Signaling through CD5 activates T cells and mediates T-B cell interactions via CD72 binding.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Normal human peripheral blood cells
Recommended usage: ≤ 5 µL (0.4 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best performance.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) must be used for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails or single-color controls.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein found on mature T lymphocytes, thymocytes, and subsets of B cells. It regulates T-cell proliferation and is expressed in various leukemias and lymphomas.
Associated diseases include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
