- In direct ELISAs, approximately 40% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-4 is observed.
- 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant feline IL-4 and recombinant porcine IL-4.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant cotton rat IL-4, recombinant mouse IL-4, and recombinant rat IL-4.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.01 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin-4 receptor. IL-4 exhibits a broad range of biological activities. The IL-4 receptor also binds IL-13, contributing to overlapping cytokine functions. STAT6 plays a key role in mediating IL-4 signaling.
The IL-4 gene clusters with IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2 on chromosome 5q, with IL-4 and IL-13 located in close proximity. These genes are co-regulated by long-range elements over a 120 kb region. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant.
