For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
When using this carrier-free antibody for conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, HER1, ErbB1) is encoded by the EGFR gene on chromosome 7 in humans.
It belongs to the HER/ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases, which also includes ErbB2, ErbB3, and ErbB4.
EGFR functions as a transmembrane receptor that, upon ligand binding (e.g., EGF, TGF-α), undergoes dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating multiple downstream signaling cascades such as Ras-ERK, PI3K-Akt, Jak-STAT, and PKC pathways.
These pathways promote cell growth and proliferation.
Phosphorylation at Y1086 enables GRB2 binding and MAPK pathway activation.
Activated EGFR is internalized and either degraded or recycled.
Mutations in EGFR, including the L858R variant, are associated with lung cancer and other malignancies.
Overexpression or hyperactivation of EGFR correlates with poor prognosis in various tumors including those of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, and esophagus.
This antibody specifically recognizes the EGFR (mutant L858R) form.
