Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Lysozyme Antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, as well as purified and partially purified Lysozyme [Hen Egg White].
Cross-reactivity against Lysozyme from other sources is unknown.

Target Information

This gene encodes human lysozyme, whose natural substrate is the bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan, cleaving the β(1-4) glycosidic linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine.
Lysozyme is one of the antimicrobial agents found in human milk and is also present in spleen, lung, kidney, white blood cells, plasma, saliva, and tears.
Missense mutations in LYZ have been identified in heritable renal amyloidosis.
