Anti-Trypsinogen antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum through delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified/partially purified Trypsinogen (Bovine Pancreas). Cross-reactivity with Trypsinogen from other sources may occur but has not been determined.

Target Information

This gene belongs to the trypsin family of serine proteases and encodes anionic trypsinogen. It is part of a cluster of trypsinogen genes located within the T cell receptor beta locus. Enzymes of this family cleave peptide bonds following lysine or arginine residues. This protein is highly expressed in pancreatic juice and upregulated in pancreatitis. It may activate pro-urokinase in ovarian tumors, suggesting a role in tumor invasion. Additionally, it can cleave the type II collagen triple helix in rheumatoid arthritis synovitis tissue, potentially contributing to cartilage matrix degradation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
