Target Information
Small G proteins such as RAP and RAB are key molecules in intracellular signal transduction and vesicle transport.
The small G protein signaling modulator (SGSM) family, including SGSM1–3, binds to RAP and RAB family proteins.
All SGSM proteins contain both RUN and TBC domains.
SGSM1 (RUTBC2) is a 1,148 amino acid protein localized to the Golgi apparatus and mainly expressed in the CNS.
It interacts with RAP and RAB subfamily members, functioning as a modulator of RAP- and RAB-mediated neuronal signal transduction and vesicular transport pathways.
