Immunogen
The antibody was raised in mice homozygous for both disrupted endogenous Ig heavy chain and k light chain, harboring a chromosome 14 fragment (SC20) containing a human Ig heavy chain locus and a human Igk chain transgene (KCo5). The mice were immunised against TRAIL-R1 and TRAIL-R2.
Target Family: TRAIL-R2 (DR5)
UniProt ID: O14763-1
Antigen Range: 1–2
Antigen Length: 440
Product Specific Information
The antibody is specific to human DR5.
Target Information
DR5 (Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, KILLER) is a death domain-containing receptor for TRAIL that mediates TRAIL-induced apoptosis. It belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and contains an intracellular death domain. DR5 can be activated by TNFSF10/TRAIL/APO-2L, transducing apoptosis signals. FADD, a death domain adaptor protein, is required for DR5-mediated apoptosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms and one non-coding transcript are known. Overexpression of DR5 induces apoptosis and activates NF-kappa-B. DR5 is highly expressed in lymphocytes and spleen. DR5 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome.
