Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
- Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
YBX1 binds to splice sites in pre-mRNA and regulates splice site selection.
This protein stabilizes cytoplasmic mRNA and modulates translation by interacting with eukaryotic initiation factors.
It binds to promoters containing a Y-box sequence (5'-CTGATTGGCCAA-3'), such as HLA class II genes, and regulates transcription of numerous genes.
YBX1 promotes separation of mismatched or cisplatin-modified DNA strands, exhibits endonucleolytic activity introducing nicks or breaks in double-stranded DNA (in vitro), and may play a role in DNA repair.
