Target Information
Purine 5′-nucleotidase (EC 3.1.3.5) preferentially hydrolyzes inosine 5′-monophosphate (IMP) and other purine nucleotides, and is allosterically activated by compounds such as ATP. This enzyme is located in the cytoplasmic matrix and plays an essential role in maintaining intracellular purine/pyrimidine nucleotide balance in cooperation with other nucleotidases.
