Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins containing two EF-hand motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cell types and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes include at least 13 members clustered on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function as a tumor suppressor, and chromosomal rearrangements or altered expression have been implicated in breast cancer.
