Target Information
TUSC2 (tumor suppressor candidate 2), also known as FUS1, LGCC, or PDAP2, is a 110 amino acid protein expressed at high levels in kidney, pancreas, lung, heart, and skeletal muscle, where it functions as a tumor suppressor.
TUSC2 inhibits invasive colony formation by inducing G1 cell cycle arrest and promoting apoptosis, thereby preventing tumor growth.
The TUSC2 gene is located on human chromosome 3, which includes over 1,100 genes such as chemokine receptor clusters and several cancer-related loci.
Key tumor suppressor genes on chromosome 3 include RASSF1, HYAL1, and SEMA3B.
