DYRK1A는 세포 증식에 관여하는 이중 특이성 키나아제로, 21번 염색체의 다운증후군 관련 영역에 위치합니다. 이 단백질은 NAD+/NADH를 보조인자로 사용하여 serine 생합성 경로의 첫 번째 단계인 3-phosphoglycerate를 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate로 전환하는 반응을 촉매합니다. 해당 유전자는 다운증후군 병태생리에 관련되어 있다고 알려져 있습니다.
