Product Specific Information

The 2D10.4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD80 (B7-1), a 60 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. CD80 is expressed by activated B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells, as well as activated T cells. It binds with high affinity to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4) on T cells, playing a crucial role in T-B cell communication and activation.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be empirically determined (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) act as ligands for T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation. CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells, EBV-transformed B cell lines, Burkitt’s lymphoma cells, follicular B lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes. Dysfunction of CD80 has been linked to gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
