Target Information
The RNF7 gene encodes a highly conserved ring finger protein that functions as an essential subunit of the SKP1-cullin/CDC53-F box protein ubiquitin ligases complex. This complex plays a key role in protein degradation, cell cycle progression, and signal transduction.
RNF7 interacts with casein kinase II (CSNK2A1/CKII) and is phosphorylated by CSNK2A1, which promotes degradation of IkappaBalpha (CHUK/IKK-alpha/IKBKA) and p27Kip1 (CDKN1B).
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
