Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For staining of formalin-fixed tissues, heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Gross cystic disease of the breast is a benign premenopausal disorder characterized by cystic lesions formed from excessive apocrine secretions. The fluid contains several glycoproteins, including Gross Cystic Disease Fluid Protein-15 (GCDFP-15), a unique 15 kDa monomer protein.
GCDFP-15 is found in apocrine epithelia, lacrimal, ceruminous, and Moll’s glands, and in serous cells of submandibular, tracheal, bronchial, sublingual, and minor salivary glands. GCDFP-15 and prostate-specific antigen are co-expressed in androgen receptor-positive breast tumors.
