Target Information
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. Lysyl-tRNA synthetase (KARS) is a homodimer localized to the cytoplasm, belonging to the class II family of tRNA synthetases. It is a known target of autoantibodies in polymyositis and dermatomyositis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
