Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of four RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. RPS24 is a ribosomal protein that forms part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S24E family of ribosomal proteins. It is localized in the cytoplasm. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene, and several processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome.
