Target Information

The elongation of primed DNA templates by DNA polymerase delta and epsilon requires accessory proteins such as proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and replication factor C (RFC).
RFC, also known as activator 1, is a protein complex composed of five distinct subunits (140, 40, 38, 37, and 36 kDa).
This gene encodes the 36 kDa subunit, which interacts with the C-terminal region of PCNA and forms a core complex with the 38 and 40 kDa subunits.
The core complex exhibits DNA-dependent ATPase activity, stimulated by PCNA in vitro.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
