Target Information
Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a deadly disease with occasional outbreaks primarily occurring on the African continent. EVD affects humans and nonhuman primates such as monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees. It is caused by infection with viruses within the genus Ebolavirus. VP30 is a phosphoprotein essential for the initiation of Ebola virus transcription and plays a role in mutations in VP30 phosphorylation sites affecting the ebolavirus replication cycle through a reverse genetics system.
