Wybutosine은 phenylalanine tRNA에서 발견되는 고도로 변형된 guanosine으로, 리보솜 디코딩 중 코돈-안티코돈 상호작용을 안정화하여 리딩 프레임 유지에 기여합니다. 인간 게놈에는 wybutosine 합성에 관여하는 두 개의 유사 유전자가 있으며, 일부 개인에서는 open reading frame이 손상되어 진화 중인 pseudogene으로 추정됩니다.
