Target Information

The human ASH2L gene encodes a 628 amino acid protein known as ASH2L1 (isoform 1), containing a nuclear localization signal and PHD finger motif, suggesting transcription regulatory function.
Predicted molecular weight: 68.7 kDa
Alternative splicing may produce isoforms of 60 kDa and 56.5 kDa.

Human ASH2L shares 60% homology with Drosophila ash2, which regulates gene expression during development, and 90% homology with mouse ASH2L.
ASH2L is expressed mainly in adult heart, testis, and fetal lung/liver, with low expression in adult lung, liver, kidney, prostate, and leukocytes.
Expression varies with differentiation inducers (e.g., phorbol ester, hemin), suggesting roles in hematopoiesis and leukemia.
ASH2L may interact with beta-tubulin and beta-catenin.
