This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids near the amino terminus of human CENPW.
PEP-1483 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34441.
Target Information
CENPW was initially identified as a gene upregulated in multiple cancers. Its overexpression in mouse fibroblast cells led to distinct cancer-specific phenotypes.
CENPW is a nuclear protein associated with CENPT, a component of the CENPA nucleosome complex in the centromere, and is required for proper kinetochore function.
It interacts with the nucleolar phosphoprotein nucleophosmin (B23), which may assist kinetochore assembly during interphase.
Overexpression of CENPW in the SKOV-3 human ovarian cancer cell line and zebrafish embryo induced apoptosis, suggesting that elevated CENPW levels trigger apoptotic cell death.
