Target Information
CD137 ligand (CD137L) is a type II membrane protein and a member of the TNF superfamily. It acts as a co-stimulatory molecule expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, monocytes/macrophages, and B cells, and is upregulated upon activation.
Its receptor, CD137/4-1BB, is expressed on multiple cell types including activated T cells and inflamed endothelial cells, facilitating monocyte extravasation and T cell activation.
CD137L expression is observed in various B-cell lymphomas (mantle cell, follicular, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma) and carcinoma cell lines, but is absent in Hodgkin and T-cell lymphomas. It plays a role in T cell-tumor cell interactions.
