Target Information
HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein that forms the core of the AIDS virus HIV-1. It is produced by cleavage of the precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. The HIV-1 Gag p24 protein is essential for viral particle assembly and replication. It can be detected from the early stage of HIV infection and is used as a marker to monitor disease progression and viral load in research studies.
