Alpha, beta, gamma actin 이소폼이 존재하며, 이 중 alpha actin은 수축성 장치의 주요 구성 요소입니다.
Smooth muscle actin은 평활근 세포, 혈관벽, 장벽, 자궁근층, 유방 및 침샘의 근상피세포에 존재합니다.
결함이 있을 경우, 가족성 흉부 대동맥류(type 6)를 유발할 수 있습니다.
Alpha-smooth muscle actin은 혈관 및 내장 평활근 세포에 풍부하며, 상처 치유 및 섬유수축성 질환과 같은 병리적 상황에서 섬유아세포의 스트레스 섬유에서도 발현됩니다.
