Protein kinase C (PKC)는 세린 및 트레오닌 특이적 단백질 키나아제 계열로, 칼슘 및 세포 내 2차 신호전달 물질인 다이에실글리세롤(DAG)에 의해 활성화됩니다.
PKC 계열은 다양한 단백질 기질을 인산화하며, 여러 세포 신호전달 경로에 관여합니다. 또한 phorbol ester(종양 촉진제)의 주요 수용체로 작용합니다. 각 PKC family member는 고유한 발현 패턴과 세포 내 기능을 가집니다.
