Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Granzyme B is a member of the granzyme serine protease family, located in granules of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells.
It is also known as CGL1 and CTLA-1, expressed in cytotoxic T lymphocytes after activation.
Granzyme B plays a key role in apoptosis induction by cleaving caspase-3 and activating the caspase cascade, leading to DNA fragmentation.
It can also trigger mitochondrial apoptosis via Bid protein cleavage.
Granzymes are neutral serine proteases stored in lytic granules of CTLs and NK cells. Multiple granzymes (A–G) have been identified in mice, while fewer are known in humans.
