Recombinant Human MIP-1α is a 7.8 kDa protein containing 70 amino acid residues, including four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CC chemokines.

Target Information
MIP-1α and MIP-1β are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines involved in host defense against bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal pathogens. They regulate trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells such as macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells.
MIP-1α selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes, while MIP-1β attracts CD4+ lymphocytes. Both are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells, and are active on both human and murine hematopoietic cells.
