Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
- Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share a basic four-polypeptide chain structure consisting of two heavy chains and two light chains (kappa, lambda; each ~22.5 kDa).
Kappa and lambda chains have variable and constant regions that differ antigenically.
The ratio of kappa to lambda is approximately 70:30.
Antibodies to the kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignancy.
