Product Specific Information
- Antibody tested in direct ELISA.
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed tissues): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein comprising about half of the total blood serum protein. It primarily functions as a carrier for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones, and contributes to extracellular fluid volume stability.
It is a globular, unglycosylated serum protein (~65 kDa) synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin. After removal of the N-terminal peptide, proalbumin is formed and subsequently cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce mature, secreted albumin.
